How do they not call boarding??? How the f*** do they miss the Montreal player jumping on the ice too many men and trips a Toronto player that would have sent them on a 4 on 3. There are countless other calls these f***ing morons have missed. Yeah the Leafs don’t look great but it’s a different game with 2 or 3 Toronto powerplays. f*** this. I wish Mathews put that f***er though the boards.

not impressed with the effort, Habs outplayed the leafs for sure, Hainsey didn't look good, Leivo did, lucky to win imo.

Terrible game but they kept digging and they pulled through. Andersen was great.

Ron f***ing Hainsey needs to stop playing with Rielly. Period. I don't care what Babcock says... this is complete insanity. He's hurting the team.

Ennis, Marleau and Brown were pretty invisible and struggled badly at times unfortunately.

Leivo, Kadri, Marner and Tavares were pretty good. Matthews got 2 goals but his line struggled badly 5 on 5.

Carey Price with an .885 sv%
Frederik Andersen with a .944 sv%

Hab fans keep saying Price is better though

Undeserving. But good teams find a way to win on bad nights. I expect them to play much better next game.

I think Kadri, Dermott, Tavares, Andersen, Leivo and Matthews had a good game.

lets hope Matthews set a more realistic benchmark for goal pace tonight than he did in the first game of his rookie year, he was pretty disappointing in his first campaign

Ok, I want Matthews to be the last person who goes into the dressing room and than slap EVERYONE including Babcock. Ok he can skip Tavares the new shiny toy.

Matthews scores 2 goals including the OT winner and John Tavares scores in his debut. The Leafs could have played a better overall game, however it's a win and 2 points in the standings.

Feels good man!

But that was an ugly 3rd period. Leafs were getting solidly outplayed by the Habs.

I would bet my favorite stratocaster that Matthews wins a rocket at some point...

Concerned by how bad we looked, it was extremely similar to the December thru January slump last season. We will never have success playing like that, a lottery team just outplayed us for 60 mins.
