Has to suck for the Knights some nights with Vegas being such a popular travel destination. Probably every team in the league has hoards of fans there who book vacations with intention of seeing their team play. It felt like there were more Leaf fans there than Vegas. Never mind the Go Leafs Go Chant... hearing a Freddy chant in the oppositions Barn is so satisfying!
On the way into the building, I asked a couple Knights fans if it was their first time in Toronto :P

It may have been a Fortress last year, but it's a sand castle this year.

Really hard to believe that was the same VGK team that made it to the SCF.

The atmosphere was pumping though, I'll give them that; reminded me of the Preds barn which always seems to be rocking.

The GLG chants in the 3rd were icing on the cake!

for one, William Karlsson is not a 40 goal scorer anymore.

I dont hype them. they are just supplemental pieces.

Marner and Nylander had pretty much identical stats through the last 2 seasons. So I dont see how you came to the opinion that Marners stats were going to explode. that is a hindsight is 20/20 guess

Nylander
22 goals 61 pts
20 goals 61 pts

Marner
19 goals 61 pts
22 goals 69 pts
Because if you watched the games you would have realized that Marner was scoring at a McDavid like pace after January. And 13% more one year younger is not immaterial.

its easy to take a 60 pt guy and add a 40 goal center and create a 100 point guy.

I love Marner and everything, but if anyone things Marner is or could be a 100pt guy without Tavares on the team then you are just dreaming.

1.13 ppg at 20 years old when put with kadri. 7 goal gap to a 100 pt season if sustained. Math must be hard for you.

Sadly, I was too tired from moving tonnes and tonnes of snow to watch this game. I missed a good one!

Apparently, Andersen needs better situational awareness BEFORE playing the puck! ;)

Marner produced at a 1.13 ppg pace in his first 2 seasons?

Read my post. Last year, when he was put with Kadri. If you think that a 20 year old kid scoring sustained points like that have no chance of ever having a 100 pt season without Tavares, you clearly have a bias that I cant fix.

Playing the most dominant stretch of hockey since Babcock arrived IMO. They've had a lot of winning streaks over the last few years and scored a lot of goals, but they've been known for a lot of high scoring chance against wins in those streaks. I can't remember a stretch where they controlled the play as well as they're doing now. Only loss in the last 7 games they put up 56 shots.

I think Muzzin is helping.

It should be:

Ennis-Kadri-Nylander
Lindholm-Goat-Brown

I think Babcock will want to let Ennis get a few games in first after a long layoff, but I'd like to see him up with Kadri/Nylander as well.

People used to hate Matthews. Last week people wanted him traded.

LOL @ Fans
Anyone who wanted Matthews traded because he wasn't himself for a few weeks need to have their head examined. But truthfully, most of those people were just waiting for THIS Matthews to come back. Justifiable concern for such a sublimely talented player.

It's not the shot that's back, I think his willingness and hunger to attack the net and drive high traffic areas is creating the chaos he needs to generate those chances in the slot.
