Rielly or Matthews

personal preference is Rielly - reasons:

• Rielly is the longest serving compared to other options
• Rielly is awesome both on and off-ice; a thorough professional
• Rielly has been saying all the right things - even when asked about his personal production he said he doesn't care and it is a team production and it is the team that matters
• Giving Matthews/Tavares/Marner the captaincy would rub the other guys in the wrong way IMO; by making Rielly the captain would handles these things

They aren't giving it to Matthews till he signs long term with the Leafs. I really don't think the Leafs are going to name a captain.

Sure but there are others who are equally excellent and worthy. My guess is that the leadership exhibited in the playoffs will be the deciding factor over who will get the C.
