Matthews >>>> Pettersson
Nylander > Boeser

Pretty easy choice for anyone who knows hockey.

AM 68gms, 73pts
WN 54gms, 27pts

EP 71gms, 66pts
BB 69gms, 56pts

Question becomes... what kind of developmental step EP takes this season. If he can maintain his initial scoring rate from last season for longer or even score at a greater rate... his point total will be around or greater than AM's.

BB is consistent... WN was consistent prior to last season...

Might come down to simply games played..

Van duo outproduced them in rate and total scoring last yr... with better depth around, could very well do it again..

It's much closer than the ">>><<<>>><<" game indicates...

Nylander has the disadvantage of playing the 2nd PP unit, but it should still comfortably be Toronto's duo. I wouldn't be surprised if they outscored Pettersson's whole line at 5v5

What am i missing?

WN appears to be a 20-40-60 pt guy over 82 gms...
BB has been a 28-28-55 pt guy over 65 gms...

What you thinking WN is going progress to this season?

To me it looks like if they played the same amount of games, BB will easily outscore WN.

Also if WN got his 60 pt seasons with the benefit of working the 1st unit PP... it doesn't help him trying to hit 60 now assigned to the 2nd unit.

Matthews > Pettersson, Nylander < Boeser I'd guess
Voted MN but it could go either way

My confidence in EP is low ATM. What I mean by that is IDK how good he really is. I need to see what he does this year over a full season to have a better understanding of him.

For that reason, I go with the safer choice in the Toronto duo.

Not enough weight is being put on the fact the Van duo outscored em last yr.

Counter point... Nylander held out and never found his groove.

Counter counter point Boeser's scoring rate has been significantly higher than Nylander's thu their first two full seasons.

I don't see how Nylander can be considered a better scorer than Boeser. He's healthier I guess.... but it's a new yr.

0.70 PPG, 2nd unit PP guy is not > 0.84 PPG, 1st unit guy.

Comes down to EP v AM... we'll see.
EP had 28g despite having 1 in March. One.
I expect better this yr.

I dont think AM outscores EP more than BB outscores WN.

The Leafs duo is the right choice here, but man IPS you should take those goggles off once in a while

Matthews- Nykander have a good shot at being the most productive 5v5 tandem in the NHL nextsesson and I doubt the Nucks guys will be able to offset that via pp output so this is an easy vote for the Leafs.

All players involved are fantastic though

healthy Matthews would make their couple win this but we cant really count on that. my guess: matthews 80 in 70 games, petterson 70 points bb 65 points and nylander 50 so winner would be second pair by 5 points

I think Pettersson breaks 90 points this year. Going nearly a PPG while battling injuries on a bad team as a center is underappreciated.

Leafs duo for now, but EP could close the gap on AM34 as soon as this year, and if Nylander has another year like last, then Boeser will clearly pass him.

Assuming all are healthy, for points I'd have it:
EP
AM
Boeser
Nylander

All four are very good players and it could go either way.
The wild card is Nylander and whether he can bounce back after last year but IMO he should.
