He's been buried on the 3rd pair carrying a struggling Clifton for most of the season. Now he's with Carlo and taking off.

I like Clifton, and was hoping he'd establish himself this year but he's had a slow start. I don't think it helps that they're both smaller guys either. Gryz-Carlo is a great pair. When Miller comes back, Graz-Miller will be a great pair too.

Clifton had a bit of a rough start to the year, no question, but I think he's been better in the last 3 games or so. Improved decision-making, sharper with his break-outs and positioning, and tougher on the puck. He's still making the occasional silly or careless move, but there have been less of them.

More work to do, and I still want to see how Miller looks as an alternative when he's fit and ready, but if Cliffy keeps going the way he has in the last week he'll be fine.

Really don't see why it needs to be a either Krug or Grz. This team has more than enough room for both.
Good point and Miller will be gone next year as his contract is up. Make room for Lauzon, Zboril or Vaak.

That was a great goal. I'm intrigued...can he be Morgan Rielly offensively? Like Rielly, he's a phenomenal skater, is a great puck handler, and has a much better wrist shot than slap shot. At least until now, Gryz has lacked the offensive confidence of a Krug. Continuing to grow in confidence will be key to Gryz reaching his potential.

I don't think he'll ever put up 72 points in a season but I do see similarities in their games. Gryz could hit 50 I think.

man that play on the powerplay where the swatted the puck down then made the blind back pass to Marchand was just stunning.

This is really putting the Bruins in a tough position with Krug/Grz, guy has been incredible. Absolutely sucks that we can't keep both. I guess they can always make a trade with Seattle for them not to take him though.

It may not be as hard as we think. If Krug gets greedy he's as good as gone. Some of us have been saying it for a while ,Grz is for real.

That would suck as well. Krug is such an important part of the PP. Especially with Chara's future uncertain, it's critical we keep both of these LHD, especially considering Vaak clearly doesn't look ready.

I love Krug. That being said, if he can land us a non-proportionate deal for a winger a la Hall I'm willing to make the move. We've got a bit of a log jam and although his PP prowess would be missed, I have a feeling our younger guys like Gryz, would be able to chip in.

If we aren't going to be able to sign him we need to make a move so we can contend.

Also I can't get over Gryz's move on Subban the other night, just so filthy

But what team is going to trade a top 6 winger for a pending UFA? A contender is looking to add and those selling won't value a pending UFA as high if they feel like they can't sign him.

I feel like this is the move. If we trade for Hall, he will sign here too. Guy has always wanted to play for the Bruins.

keep reading this here about Hall, I am not disputing but asking, do you have a link or a quote that supports this? Again, not disputing, just not sure I`ve ever seen or heard him talk about the B`s. Thx

Eh, I'd argue nothing has changed for the worse...they were going to lose one of them no matter what. However, Grizz raising his value in Krug's absence gives them options. The better both guys play, the better it is for the Bruins (on the ice obviously, but also in terms of trade value, etc.).

I've said before that he has #2 defenceman potential. I'll trade Vaakanainen or any other prospect in a heartbeat to hold on to Grzelcyk.

What is insane about Gryz is his edgework. The guy is so shifty...

The offense is starting to come, too. Would like to see him become a 10-30-40 guy in the future.

Don't think that is at all out of reach for him. Without wanting to put the whammy on Grz, he is reminiscent of Liles in some ways when Liles was at his best. Good vision, very good skating

I've compared him to Duncan Keith in the past. Doesn't have Keith's size and may never match his peak offensive output, but his ability to completely neutralize the opposing team's forecheck & transition game with his skating & puck retrieval is very reminiscent of Keith IMO.

Vaakaneinen is expansion draft exempt.

Krug can’t be traded for anything but rental prices.

Gryz in the other hand has control and trade value.

I would LOVE to play him with McAvoy heavy minutes and really see what is there outside of a bottom pairing role for a big chunk of the season. Either to decide it moving in from Krug is the right move, or to build up his trade value to what we think it should be.

will be very interesting. krug holds all the cards. if he wants to sign here, he'll
make it work. depends on how badly he wants to stay, because he's obviously
getting more term and money elsewhere.

gryz's progress has been fun to watch. even if they sign krug, i assume nothing
will go down until june.
