Bears should get right on it. He's still a pretty good. Went 20/21 on kicks this past year with the longest being a 57 yarder.

He still has plenty to give.

Reliable kickers are hard to find. Falcons better be confident on the replacement.

Yeah that one is a bit of a head scratcher to me. I get he's 43, but as several kickers have proven age doesn't mean a damn thing as long as you can still get your leg up. Vinatieri is like 400 years old and by all accounts is still going strong.

Especially looking at the stats. Bryant was almost perfect and in 3 of 13 games, he hit kicks of 50 yards or longer and had a couple with 45+ so he certainly still has the leg.

Hell baby
Should have just rode him into retirement, now they’re taking an unnecessary gamble

Bryant was due about $3.5 million. Tavecchio will get $600,000. They cut Alford earlier as well, freeing up another $6 million.

That gets them to $28 million of cap space. Need to pay Grady Jarrett, would hate to lose him or Tevin Coleman.

Drafting kickers doesn't seem to have a great success rate anyways. They're complete unknowns no matter how much you think of them. You don't know you have the guy until you have the guy, and sometimes they leave and without any explanation they either lose it or find it. Look at Aguayo, there's no way that guy should've been a burnout the way he kicked in college.

It really depends. You can end up with Daniel Carlson who got cut midseason or you can get a Michael Dickson who made First All Pro Team.

Tavecchio showed enough that they should be confident in him. It's worth the savings. They have to pay Grady Jarrett and have too many holes to fill them all through the draft if they want to be a super bowl contender this year.
