He did. This may just be a finishing procedure.

If he was injured Tuesday, he played through it. He played 14:33 on Tuesday, 4th among forwards.

That is going to hurt a bit. Gauthier will almost certainly start as 4RW with Wallmark and Foegele, but could he (and Necas) force his way up more? Has Necas already?

And whether this is related to the last core muscle/hernia surgery or a separate injury, this one apparently has a longer recovery. The surgery after last season was estimated with a 4-6 week recovery.

That's a bummer, but I do think we can withstand it. I do hope that Gauthier looks as effective now that the games matter, and maybe occasionally produce.

Sucks. Not sure the impact it’ll have on the ice, but who doesn’t love Marty and want to see him out there every game?

That said, aside from Foegele, Marty is probably the guy on the roster you’d want Gauthier to replace if you don’t want the team to miss a beat. Especially if Gauthier comes out with the crazy energy he had in the preseason. Like Foegele last year, that energy won’t be sustainable, but for a few games it could be a huge jolt.
