The coach wasn't there so we won. We played as a team.Le coach n'était pas là donc nous avons gagné, nous avons joué tout le match en équipe
Either he dissed the coach and is going back on his statement, or he meant to say "despite the coach not being there, we still won the game because they played as a team".
It seems pretty obvious to me it's the latter. Wouldn't be the first time a foreigner accidentally got his words twisted in the media. Ask Andrej Sekera about the weather in Buffalo, for example.
Yep. The difference between a 'donc' and a 'mais' in that sentence makes a pretty huge difference. Really doubt Reway would bite the hand that feeds him like that.
Exactly. For those wondering:
'donc' = so
'mais' = but
"The coach wasn't there so we won. We played as a team." (actual quote)
vs
"The coach wasn't there but we won. We played as a team." (what he likely meant)
