Bozaks numbers have been pretty consistent his entire career though, higher end #3C. And JVR is a top line talent. This makes your argument weaker you shouldnt have mentioned them. Draisaitl away from McDavid gets to play with guys like Lucic, Rieder, Chiasson, Khaira and Mike Cammaleri. He would kill for Bozak and JVR.

Might want to check the history of Letestu in the playoffs.

Also, Draisaitl was the MVP of the Memorial Cup in 2015 so he does have a track record.

To add on, he helped Germany qualify for the Olympics, where they won silver.

Bozak played with Phil Kessel for the majority of his time in Toronto but I’m sure you knew that. JVR a 1st liner? Any team that has that as the case won’t be winning diddly. Well who’s fault is it that the Oilers traded not one but two top wingers for scraps and a mid-tier defender.

Those mean diddly, William Nylander was MVP of the World Championships that has nothing to do with the NHL. I did check...Letestu in his one playoff run had more points than Connor McDavid. What’s the issue? You love working off small sample sizes.

Letestu has 15 points in 36 games, while being a -10 in the playoffs.
So how is that one playoff run bud?

And if you took McDavid's ppg in the playoffs over 36 games, he would have 25 points

Yes I did know that, you do realize all Canadian fans basically know everything about the Leafs. We have it shoved down our throats by media. Bozak is on a 0.5 ppg pace this season with St.Louis so theres that. Regardless are you suggesting his career points have an asterisks beside it considering he played with good players? Its not wrong in saying his point totals have been pretty consistent throughout his career.

I would bet that JVR is a 1st liner on at least 1/3 the teams in the league. Easily on the Oilers.

Thank you! Its not Draisaitls fault he has no top9 let alone top6 talent to play with, so he shouldnt be criticized for producing less when playing with them.

I'm taking Marner here, by a hair.

Kane - Hertl - Marner (oh my god...)
    Meier - Couture - Donskoi
    Labanc - Thornton - Pavelski
    Sorensen - Gambrell - Goodrow

    Vs

    Meier - Draisaitl - Donskoi
    Kane - Hertl - Pavelski
    Sorensen - Couture - Labanc
    Gambrell - Thornton - Goodrow

I prefer the first group, since we've got Hertl and Couture as legit top 6 centres, and Pavelski can absolutely still be one. Imagine having Thornton and Pavelski facing 3rd lines...

Lmao so you thought I brought up Mark Letestu and Connor McDavid and the playoff stat out of thin air? Same team, same year lol, I clearly mentioned it in previous posts.

Indeed...the bottom third of the league just like the Leafs were when he was on ours for the majority of the time haha. The guy scores PP goals, has no physical game to speak of, a blackhole defensively and a ghost in playoff runs.

    This poll should be renamed:

How many Oiler fans are there on this board vs how many Leaf fans?

    Marner.

It was used to illustrate how Draisaitl has always been a big game player. I never stated that Marner was not a big game player

You have been contradicting yourself throughout your post.

You only used one of letestu playoffs runs out of like 5, while used both of Matthews. Why? Because it doesn't fit your agenda.

In all of my post, I have used the players career playoff stats, while you have been varying the sample size to help your argument

Close for me but I think Marner is better. I'm not a Leafs fan, but I've been a Marner fan since he was drafted. In terms of who I'd pick... it would largely depend on a number of things like cap space, positional strengths/weaknesses, and so on.

For the level-headed Leafs fans in here:
This is the type of post/poster that taints your entire fanbase. There are too many Leafs fans that say idiotic homer crap like this. Every fan base has them, but you guys have a massive fanbase, and therefore more fools like this.

What? You used one playoff run for Draisatl to make the argument that he’s been better than Matthews who’s been on multiple ones.

I used the Letestu run to counter your Drai run considering they were all on the Oilers for that run. You dislike it because it makes your sample size argument null and void considering Mark Letestu is no where near McDavid but on that playoff run was actually better. Thus your Matthews/Drai comparison has zero legs as well.

Because of the contract he earned. If he cost 2 million like Hyman they would have been all over him.
