Prospect of the week
3 players could get it this week. Robertson had 3 goals in 2 games. SDA had 3 points in 2 games, while Kral also had 3 points in 2 games. Both players also had 2 ES points and 1 PP point. This could be controversial, but i'm giving it to Kral this week. My only reasoning is he had the higher plus minus. He was a plus 4 this week. I don't give out CO POW winners. I don't like evaluating based on plus minus, but with only a week of games, this is my last resort. I should probably mention again I value goals the same as assists for this exercise.

Man Robertson can really shoot the puck

A hybrid of Johnsson and Trevor Moore would be a nice outcome for him

He is basically Brad Marchand without the perceived "issues". Great shot generation, hands and puck movement, good edgework and an incredible motor. Literally exactly what this team needs.

Brad Marchand without the issues isn't Brad Marchand at all.

Marchand is a 100pt player in the NHL. I'm not comfortable throwing a comparison like that on even a top 5 pick. I could see Brendan Gallagher.

I meant playstyle wise. If Robertson hits peak Marchand (that is a MASSIVE IF) then that would be one of the greatest picks in recent memory. Part of Marchand's game is the weasel factor, but it was always a side thing compared to how he has developed. He wins puck battles like it's his job, has great hands, has a scoring touch and has good chemistry with his linemates.

Maybe a linemate for Mathews next yr
Let's maybe let him finish his junior career before we start talking about that..

He just turned 18 in September. He's still very much a kid both physically and mentally. Be patient with this one.

Johnsson has been an excellent linemate when Babcock actually leaves the trio together.

Marchand doesn't have "issues". He does what he does because it's effective and the league/refs let him do it.

IDK. What advantage is there to licking someone? Is that supposed to intimidate? A lot of the shit he does he does because they let him get away with it. But I still think he has issues.

Aaron Luchuk and Giorgio Estephan have been called up from the Growlers. Two of the best forwards the Growlers have, both 97's. Would have thought Conrad would get a shot over Estephan, who still needs work on his defensive game, but I guess they felt two centers would be too much (Estephan plays wing).

Zach O'Brien has been sent down. Never really understood why they brought him up in the first place, but he's back home to give the Growlers a bit of a boost (and to try and replace two of their best players). Angus Redmond has also been loaned there from Anaheim. Probably the condition on the Ryan Johnston trade earlier this week. Redmond has been mediocre at best in his short ECHL career, but goaltending has been an issue so hopefully Redmond can spark something.

Okulov got off to a great start, but has cooled down a bit. Still has 14 points in 23 games as a 24 year old.

Mikheyev, for reference, had 31 in 45 last year.

Okulov plays for a better team, so minutes are tougher to come by.

I'm not really sure how Okulov would fit into this team? He's a center/right wing... We are deep on both. At best, if he can play LW, he could replace Johnsson.

Leafs would, at best, only have a physical 4th line up front next year though.

Would be about 6mil AAV cheaper than =, say C/RW Nylander.
