Thought I read that the Marlies re-signed Rourke Chartier. Is that not the case?

I have not heard anything, and he was really bad last year so I don't see why the Marlies would want him back. We have better options to look at this time around.

so just spit balling here assuming this is the Leafs roster and Engvall is traded:

Bunting - Matthews - Marner
Ritchie - Tavares - Nylander
Mikheyev - Kerfoot - Kase
Simmonds - Kampf - Spezza
Semyonov

Rielly - Brodie
Muzzin - Holl
Sandin - Dermott

Campbell
Mrazek

-----

The Marlies should look something like:

Robertson - SDA - Gogolev
Holmberg - Brooks - J. Anderson
Kopacka - Abramov - Amadio
Seney - Steeves - Gabriel
McKenna/Suomela

Kral - Liljegren
Dahlstrom - Menell
Rubins - Hollowell
Kivihalme/Biega

Woll
Hutchinson
Scott

That'd be a pretty fun team to watch

LW Michael Bunting – C Auston Matthews – RW Mitch Marner
LW Nick Ritchie – C John Tavares – RW William Nylander
LW Alex Kerfoot – C David Kampf – RW Ondrej Kase
LW Ilya Mikheyev – C Jason Spezza – RW Joey Anderson
RW Wayne Simmonds/C Kirill Semyonov/RW Josh Ho-Sang (PTO)

LD Morgan Rielly – RD T.J. Brodie
LD Jake Muzzin – RD Justin Holl
LD Travis Dermott – RD Timothy Liljegren
RD Brennan Menell

G Jack Campbell – G Petr Mrazek

---

LW Nick Robertson – C Adam Brooks – RW ???
LW Pavel Gogolev – C Semyon Der-Arguchintsev – RW ???
LW Brett Seney – C Michael Amadio – RW Alex Steeves
LW Antti Suomela – C Mikhail Abramov – RW Jeremy McKenna
LW Rich Clune - C Curtis Douglas – RW Kurtis Gabriel
LW Jack Kopacka – C Bobby McMann – RW Gordie Green
LW Ryan Chyzowski

LD Rasmus Sandin – RD Alex Biega
LD Carl Dahlstrom – RD Mac Hollowell
LD Kristians Rubins – RD Filip Kral
LD Noel Hoefenmayer – RD Joseph Duszak
LD Riley McCourt - RD Ben Finkelstein
RD Brennan Kapcheck

G Joseph Woll - G Michael Hutchinson
G Ian Scott (+ Erik Kallgren, who may be staying in Europe next year).

Trade Engvall and Malgin for picks. Trade Kivihalme for an AHLer. Still a lot of questions about what the RW depth chart.

Yeah RW is pretty weak. I thought Duzcak was let go.

It's not really weak, I just don't know how to fit all of the pieces. Still a lot in the air when it comes to that.

Everywhere else is pretty much set. Need to move some guys out and add a few more AHL contracts to fill out the Marlies extras/Growlers depth chart a little bit more, but top 6 Marlies RW and maybe an NHL depth defenseman are the only things that seem up in the air right now.

Duszak was tendered a QO so he is staying.

Meanwhile, Boucher (the 10th overall pick) has found his way onto the B squad.
Boucher never should have been a top 10 pick. It would take a miracle for him to live up to that position. In the same vein, Knies honestly should have been a first round pick. His D-1 production was insane, and his draft year production would have been if not for covid/concussion issues

Looks pretty good to me. I think you might have Voit a bit high, especially over guys like Ovchinnikov, Kral and Koester. I also think Robertson is a clear #3 after any combination of Liljegren and Sandin (I also have Liljegren at #1).

I'm lazy so I'll only do a top 10

1 - Sandin
2 - Robertson
3 - Liljegren
4 - Amirov
5 - Niemala
6 - Hirvonen
7 - Abramov
8 - Knies
9 - Miettinen
10 - Abruzzese

Though he's lower on my list, a dark horse prospect I like is Ovchinikov. Really interested to see how he develops/performs with a step up in competition.

Genuinely curious, why is Amirov the clearcut #4? From my viewings, I'd probably go Liljegren > Amirov > Sandin = Robertson

I have good NHL vibes about one through 17 with a few exceptions. SDA, I like but he needs to be more assertive with the puck. I bet he could be an AHL all-star one day. And I like Voit and Abruzzese, but am a bit more cautious with them due to lost development time.
Like some of the later dark horses too.
All in all, a fun group to track at least :)
