Which end of Career pickup was/is better?
Alexander Mogilny or Patrick Marleau?
Alexander Mogilny or Patrick Marleau?
Mogilny was dynamite if you are comparing the two at exclusively their Leaf tenure.
But it's unfair because you are comparing Mogilny's 32-34 seasons to Marleau's 38-40.
Mogilny played until he was 36. Marleau is 39 and still playing.
True, but Mogilny's body was falling apart. Would you really argue that his 32-34 body was in better shape than Marleau 38-40?
No, I'm arguing Prime years. Marleaus 32-34 was much more productive than what he has put up now for obvious reasons.
I remember when Mogilny signed a lot of Leafs fans were freaking out because they had done nothing in free agency up until that point because they didn't sign him until July 3, 2001.Mogilny was 1B TO Sundin. As of right now Sundin was a better player then Matthews is probably change that statement after this year.
Even at 36, Mogilny was scoring at a 75% PPG rate. Marleau settled at under 60% at 36 and has been there ever since. Roberts is a better comparison.
