I think that over their careers, Mogilny was the better player. Mogilny was also the better pickup even though he did miss a lot of games for us. He led the Leafs in scoring his second year in Toronto. I doubt Patty will do that any time soon.

No, I'm arguing Prime years. Marleaus 32-34 was much more productive than what he has put up now for obvious reasons.

Even at 36, Mogilny was scoring at a 75% PPG rate. Marleau settled at under 60% at 36 and has been there ever since. Roberts is a better comparison.

This was my favorite Mogilny moment when he was a Maple Leaf.

Mogilny did more with way less talent to shelter or play with. If he played 2 or 3 extra years perfurably when he was younger and not 36 37 38. Might have been an all time favorite leaf player. This comparison starts with the same first letters in their last names and ends with the same amount of letters in their last names. Also Tavaras signs with this team regardless of Marleau on it or not. Mogilny was 1B TO Sundin. As of right now Sundin was a better player then Matthews is probably change that statement after this year.

I remember when Mogilny signed a lot of Leafs fans were freaking out because they had done nothing in free agency up until that point because they didn't sign him until July 3, 2001.

Apples and oranges. Mogilny was still younger by the end of his Leaf tenure than Marleau was at the start of his. Mogilny gets my vote, but they're both solid acquisitions.

Only 34 games. Mogilny was a better player in his prime. Marleau provides more value at this age because he is actually playing the games.

Mogilny was by far the more impactful player, taking nothing away from Marleau who has been great both on the ice and in the room.
