Marleau is on the block

Rumours out of New York is that the General Manager of New Islanders is in discussion with two teams regarding Patrick Marleau. When asked, this is what he had to say:

We feel that Patrick Marleau is a world class player but our team is in such a state that we won't be competing for next few years. So we feel that Marleau will be best served with a contending team that is looking to add a number one centre or Left Wing.

When asked if he would be trading anyone else, he commented that all his players are available and won't hesitate to pull a trigger if a right deal comes along.

In marleau, I am basically looking for top notch prospects or young NHL ready player. Please remeber that Cheechoo was offered 5 1st rd in the RFA market so Marleau's asking price will be similar in nature.
