Virtanen points per 60 mins is quite bad this season as well. If Granlund is some AHL player l offensively. That means Virtanen is some AHL player offensively as well. This season there ice time and points are similar.

If Granlund was a local boy like Virtanen. Most likely we don't have this conversation.

Virtanen also brings speed, size, and hitting to the table while providing the same level of offence and defense that granlund provides.

I don’t like or dislike granlund. I think he’s a placeholder option who’s easily replaced in the lineup. Ideally I’d rather a player who’s more physical in his role. Our top 6 is soft enough that our bottom 6 needs to make up for it.

With Spooner coming from EDM maybe Granlund is the odd man out that will be moved out for something (e.g.mid round pick) at the deadline if someone wants to add some forward options

If I were Benning I'd try to find a taker
