Mr. Canucklehead
Kitimat Canuck
All the best to Marky and his family.
Seems to be adjusting well in his first AHL season so far.Dipietro is our 3rd best Goalie?!?!
I have the utmost respect for Marky with how he's been able to function through this.
Dipietro is our 3rd best Goalie?!?!
He's been really good in Utica so far. No rookie pro adjustment problems yet; smooth sailing. Every bit the equal of Demko in his first pro year.Dipietro is our 3rd best Goalie?!?!
Reward to get some NHL money with a strong start in the A. Demko will get both games on Tues and Sat while Markstrom is away.Dipietro is our 3rd best Goalie?!?!

Why would you trade Markstrom when you likely get not much in return as UFA goalies don't get a lot. The Canucks will be in the PO hunt by the trade deadline. it's better to keep Markstrom.Hmm....Demko and DiPietro.....the 'goalies of the future' who just might be the 'goalies of the present' after the trade deadline.
People like to say trade him at the TDL, but playoff teams have a goalie, otherwise, they likely wouldn't in the playoff race. Markstrom also does not have any playoff experience, so teams would not be getting upgrade in that regards. Why would you trade Markstrom when you likely get not much in return as UFA goalies don't get a lot. Works both ways as well as Dipietro learns about the habits of the shooters as well. He's got some work to do, but most reports out of Utica have been very positive.
The shooters could eventually figure him out, but they haven't yet.
My memory is getting a bit fuzzy, but didn't Mike Keenan kick out Peter Zezel or Grant Ledyard back in 98' for taking a leave of absence to attend a family members' death? :
