News Article: Mark Recchi Takes Executive Job With Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars will officially be announcing the hiring of former players Mark Recchi, Marty Turco and Mike Modano for positions with the organization during a press conference on Thursday.

While Recchi never played for the Stars, he is a co-owner of the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League with Stars owner Tom Gaglardi.

Recchi, 44, is a veteran of 1,652 NHL games with seven different teams (none of them the Stars). However, he is co-owner of the Kamloops Blazers with Stars owner Tom Gaglardi. Rechi, Jarome Iginla, Shane Doan and Darryl Sydor each own 12.5 percent of the Major Junior Hockey team, whil Gaglardi owns 50 percent. Gaglardi and Recchi have been friends for years. Recchi could be a consultant in the front office.

Glad to see Recchi staying involved in the game. He seems like the kind of guy we'll hear quite a bit from again on the management side. Would love to see more players of that stature getting involved in groups who own NHL teams. Would be good for the league.

He's not moving there. He's working from Pittsburg. He will travel to consult.
