A huge blow. One of my favourite musicians of all time and one of my favourite bands, too. His music got more and more interesting as he matured--I thought Talk Talk's last two albums and his solo album were challenging but absolutely brilliant. One of the best vocalists in rock music, too.

Man, those last two Talk Talk albums are the two most special pieces of music I've ever heard. Not saying that they're in my top 5 all-time albums but they're the two albums that I respect the most. I'd say they were ahead of their time except nothing like them has ever really been made so they were truly unique.

It's a shame he basically quit releasing new music after those two and his solo album but it's okay simply because of how good they were. This is a song which I coincidentally listened to a tonne the past month, I remember ignoring it on the album initially but it was a real grower like the rest of it and probably my favourite song from the 80s now:
