that's the knock people usually have against Ganger, by the way.
I believe those deficiencies apply to him more than it does Arcobello.

I can't believe after 8 games how hard people are still bashing the play of Arcobello.
He's done more for the team than you could hope for, plus an incredible faceoff percentage.

So many problems with the team and the play of Arcobello is NOT one of them. he's been one of the few big positives.

Yes, Arco has sure come into his own.

I for one, am surprised. I thought he'd be a mildly offensive replacment level player who held his own from time to time but ultimately would look out classed.

However, he has shown alot. If he can continue to work hard, dog on the puck, and do little things like finish his checks and compete on the walls, he'll can stay an NHLer.

Good on Mark. He's been one of the bright spots. I hope he continues to adjust and works on that shot.

I can't help but wonder if the fact that Conacher is two years younger improves his value. Maybe teams feel that there's more untapped potential there?

Just noticed something pretty wild while looking at behindthenet.

In 30 attempts, Arcobello is at 76.6% on defensive zone face-offs.

He has been impressive all year ,people ? his skating but he sure has hustle as well and does not look slow imo.

What's really surprised me is his puck protection skills. He's not easily knocked off the puck, which is quite impressive. He battles along the boards. He chases the puck continuously.

He also doesn't turn the puck over. Color me quite impressed with Arco thus far.

As Oilers fans we accustomed to watching bad hockey and think players are better than they are. Tonight was a great example of a sloppily played game between two poor teams compared with the tight hockey by the Sharks and Wings last night. Arco looks fine compared to the giveaway machines of Nuge and Hall but I'd trade him once Gagner returns. He doesn't fit in the 4C role.

Struds thinks Gags should be moved back to 2C with Marco being moved to 4C, or perhaps being reassigned. I hope Eakins gives Arco at least a few games at 2C with Gagner on the wing.

Does Gagner have ANY past experience playing wing? Where did this idea come from?

Would be very dumb moving him off the 2nd he produces with whoever he plays with , he is great reading plays in offensive zone if he has no one open he plays back to dman on point , very smart player , let him play himself off the second first.

Perron RNH Eberle
Joensuu Arcobello Hemsky
Jones Gagner Yakupov
Gazdic Gordon Pitlick

Is probably what I'd roll with when Gagner and Joensuu are back and give the Gagner line the softer minutes.

I think when Gagner (and Joensuu some day) is back.

Joensuu - RNH - Ebs -> Gives a big body good along the boards and net presence who is defensively responsible and not unskilled.

Perron - Arco - Hemsky -> High skill with good defensive responsibility.

Gagner - Gordon - Yak -> Skilled and gritty, Gordon is defensively sound for Yak, Gagner has some chemistry with Yak.

Gazdic - Acton - Pitlick -> Pain in the bum

Jones -> Mad
