When healthy, Leafs can roll out something like Rielly-Brodie/Ferraro-Liljegren/McCabe-Boosh on defense with Benoit and Gio as solid injury replacements. Leafs also get a playoff style bottom six guy who can play all three forward positions. Ferraro is signed for 2 more years after this one so they're not giving up their 1st for a rental.

Included Samsonov strictly for cap purposes since I assume they don't need him with Woll back. But if the plan is to juggle three goalies the rest of the way this would probably need a 3rd team to cut Kunin's cap hit down to 25%.

I could absolutely see Mario Ferrero being a target but I don't see Samsonov involved.

If a deal were struck It's probably close to this but not exactly this.

IMO we don’t need another left D to push Benoit out of the lineup. He’s been rock solid defensively and adds the playoff snot that Treliving has gone on about all season. I don’t think Brodie has the mobility to play his off side as well as he has the last few years, he’s looked much better on the left (and away from Rielly…).
