Fast and high IQ are the descriptors of the first two picks. Much better than compete and size, which got us an awful team. Watching teams like the Ducks it just reminds me how slow the Sabres have been playing the last few years, even with players like Eichel, the decisions and puck movement is slow.

Would love a Hagelin on the team. Hope he pans out in that light.

...is what other teams will have as they blow by the Sabres Swiss cheese D.

Yeah! We should force picks just because we need defense now! Who cares if these kids can develop into better players and contribute to the team on the ice or in a transaction to bring in a player.

Dumb Sabres! Stupid Botterill!

9 points in 45 in the SweHL in his draft eligible year.
Asplund had 12 in 47 in the SweHL in his draft eligible year.

Just for comparison's sake.

Don't get it personally. He doesn't jump out as high ceiling pick, would have rather gone with whoever we are highest on at D or G versus Davidsson if this is the forward they are highest on.

They got the goalie they were highest on later on the draft. Some say better then Oetinger

Marcus Davidsson lined up at 3C today in DIF's exhibition tilt vs Stockholm All Stars. STO loaded with "NHLers" including Jacob Josefson (BUF).

@SabresProspects - Aug 25 -
DIF trails Stockholm All-Stars 5-2 - End of 2nd.
Davidsson earned the primary helper on the second DIF goal. Josefson has an assist for STO.
Davidsson finished with one assist and two shots on goal as DIF fell to the Stockholm All Stars 6-4.

@SabresProspects - Marcus Davidsson absent from the lineup today as Djurgården opens the SHL season vs HV71.

Martin Sedin‏ @murtas75 - Marcus Davidsson played J20 today and scored when DjurgÃ¥rden lost 4-1 against Modo.

@SabresProspects - Marcus Davidsson scored one goal, produced three shots on goal, and won 13 of his 14 faceoffs as DIF J20 dropped a 4-1 decision to MODO. Thought maybe there could be a chance Davidsson could get bumped down when DIF signed Rene Bourque. It seems that's the case for now.

I'm a little confused as to why Davidsson is playing in a Swedish J20 league after playing in the SEL last year?

Currently playing against Rasmus Asplunds team and just got his first point of the season. Assisted his brother.

Kris Baker‏ @SabresProspects -
Long stretch pass hits the tape of Marcus Davidssson, who breaks down the left side and feeds his brother for the goal.
DIF 2, FBK 2 in 2nd. The Brothers Davidsson have connected on that play several times in the driveway, I imagine.

The helper was Davidsson's first point of the year (sixth game).
He played for a season-high 12:52 and won 7/8 draws (87.5%) in the loss.
