Don’t believe Russo said this. Russo likely doesn’t have much more information than we do on the matter.

It was Russo speculating. He doesn't actually know. The same way he speculated Menell was never coming back, and then walked that comment back as soon as Guerin said he'd bring Menell back if he wanted to come back.

Somewhere in time
On Austrian news sites his father was interviewed and mentioned Marco being out till at least march. He is currently recovering at home in Austria. He said his medical issues are under control and he is on a good way of recovery. The original article (Vorarlberger Nachrichten) is behind a paywall, this is the link to the article referencing to the news from VN.

At least March means his NHL season is more or less toast, IMO. Maybe they will let him play a bit of AHL because of the unusual circumstances of this year, but the main thing is that he will be ok physically at the beginning of next season . As much as we are impatient for a good Center, MN can't rush him. Missing close to an entire season of play is a big deal.

Glad he will be able to make a full recovery. He seems like a very determined kid, I think he will work past this and is probably using his time now to get better.

Russo just tweeted that he will return to Minnesota in 6 weeks per his sources. 6 weeks from today would mean roughly 27 games he would be back for.

Just happy at this point we are talking about when he will return, and hope that whatever he has going on truly does clear up for him, just from a personal standpoint.

In November wow! Surprised he played at wjc, and if he was affected then. Did we see 90% Rossi?

He only played a couple NL games around Halloween this year because he caught COVID.

I couldn't say what % he was in the WJC. The Austria team around him was awful, so I don't take much of anything away from his performance there other than he was on the ice.

The Wild were vague in their announcement in part because of the federal law restricting the release of medical information. They provided no specifics as to what lasting effects Rossi has been dealing with, but sources told The Athletic on Saturday night that the team’s medical staff is confident the 19-year-old center will make a full recovery. While not getting into details, general manager Bill Guerin also said on a recent The Athletic podcast that the Wild are confident he’ll be OK long term.
However, he will not play this season, sources said.

If Rossi doesn't play at all this season, does it burn a year from his ELC contract?
