So far I've seen either Kentucky or Arizona picked to win it all.

Hopefully Villanova goes far.

My bracket is probably going to be terrible this year.

I know little to nothing about college BBall. When I do my initial bracket I just go with "gut" picks and usually come up with some upsets along this way. This year there was a lot of chalk in my first go around, but I usually do a ton to try and maximize my minuscule chance of winning something from one of these websites (I won a signed Giroux jersey from CSN Philly a couple years back).

Stephen F. Austin is a solid team. Have them over Utah.

BYU is also a really good team. Wouldnt be surprised if they make a run.

Also I have only done the ESPN one. Anyone got a list of sites that do contests? I know there are quite a few but figured we get a list going.

Almost every site that has something to do with sports does. All the major and local networks do it, yahoo does it, and probably any betting or fantasy website too.

I usually get the 8-9 and 12-5 matchup wrong just about every time. No matter if I pick the favorite or the underdog.

Over the last ten years, the 10/5 matchups are at .500 or something like that. I've got Davidson and Ohio State winning this year in those matchups.

Was going through filling out my bracket and I noticed that in the regional semifinals I have the 1-4 seeds in there for 3 of the 4 regions.

The only region I don't have the top 4 there is the East where I have 1, 2, 3, 5. Looks like I'm not picking very many upsets

Think I'm gonna change it though.

This goes here....

A lot of bs here. Yes the NCAA makes billions off of football and Basketball. And All that money is used to pay for the 44 women's sports, and 42 men's sports in Division 1 , 2 and 3.

Think about that. I have been an athlete for a short time at the NCAA level and have worked in a college athletic program. Both Programs I was associated with lost money because of their athletic program. ANd the only program that brought in any money what so ever where the Men's Basketball team. That money , and the money they got from the ncaa accounted for over 60 perent of the the athletics budget. Without ncaa money there would be no college athletics.

As far as feeling sorry for the college scholarship athletes who aren't getting paid, let's discuss what they are getting. It is estimated at the school i worked for that over a 4year period for a sholarship athlete with, tution, boarding, tutoring, it was estimated that total expenses for the athlete ranged from aboundt80-120 thousand dollars a year. And to be honest that is a conservative estimate. That is much better than anything they would be getting right out of high school
Now factor in that 80 percent of these kids wouldn't even be in college if it weren't for athletic scholarships. So they are by no means getting the raw end of the deal here.

THe ncaa is not a perfect system, but without it there would be no one to finance college athletics. Two sports finance all of the ncaa that is the problem.

So much wrong with this post, especially because you believe the bold is the problem with the NCAA.

I don't follow too much of the politics of other sports besides hockey but interested in seeing how this spurred debate over the legitimacy of the NCAA business model evolves or devolves...
