Julien restores Bruins’ shuffled lines for now
After the Bruins returned from a four-game road trip having gone 1-3 and scoring just six goals, coach Claude Julien exercised his prerogative to shuffle his lines and did so Sunday in an attempt to give his team a jolt before Monday night’s home game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Evidently, it worked.

Bruins ‘D’ rush to the rescue
Bruins coach Claude Julien gave his players an unscheduled day off yesterday to rest their legs and minds with the hope their hands will return for tonight’s huge matchup against the Montreal Canadiens.

On Monday night, the B’s huffed and puffed and grinded their way to a 3-2 shootout win over a Toronto Maple Leafs team that no longer shakes in skates at the sight of black and gold.

Why the Bruins should trade for Jarome Iginla
Beyond the obvious production to the tune of 525 career goals and 1,095 points, “Iggy†is the consummate pro and captain who brings a physical style and the character that the Bruins and their fans covet. He hits, he’ll fight and he carries himself with the highest degree of class and professionalism.

Is he on the downside of his storied playing career? There is little doubt that he is. However, do Bruins fans so quickly forget the kind of complete impact that a 41-43-year-old Mark Recchi had in being an instrumental piece in Boston’s first Stanley Cup championship team in 39 years? Leaders like Iginla can bring so much more than the numbers on the score sheet, and when you think about how consistent Iginla has been over the course of his 1,218 NHL games, it isn’t a stretch to think he can get back to the 30-goal level, at least in the short term.

Bruins-Canadiens game isn’t the only excitement on the calendar
BOSTON — Neither the Bruins nor their fans will feel the slightest bit of sympathy for the opponent, but they take a couple of advantages into tonight’s game against the Canadiens. The B’s get to play at home, where they have an 11-2-1 record, and they’ll be rested: Coach Claude Julien gave his players Tuesday off, while the Canadiens had to play at Pittsburgh, against the best team in the Eastern Conference.
Make that the best, and getting better, team in the East.

Jarome Iginla sweepstakes
“I think the Bruins are the front runners right now,†said a source from another club that has been monitoring the situation. “With what the (Pittsburgh) Penguins did the last couple of days, they’re motivated.â€

FLAMES MOVING CAUTIOUSLY IN TRADE TALKS WITH IGINLA
Sources say the Calgary Flames are moving very cautiously in trade talks involving their captain, Jarome Iginla.

The Boston Bruins have been in constant communication with the Flames and a variety of assets have been considered, however, more work is required for a deal to take shape.
