Too many back to backs to just ride Mason and there's not that many games left as it is so it isn't like Stolie's development is going to get hurt by playing two games down the stretch instead of eight. The only reason you don't bring him up is if you think LaBarbera is a better option.

Give Stollie another season with the Phantoms and then give him 30 games or so in 17/18. Looking forward to that, a real sleeper pick.

Howard Eskin had a Twitter comment Sunday that it was knee-related, too, suffered in warm-ups.

Mason knows he will be depended on heavily down the stretch, especially with Michal Neuvirth out for three weeks with a lower body injury. CSNphilly.com reported that Neuvirth had a meniscus tear in his left knee and could play in the playoffs but is out for the regular season.

"We don't comment on injuries," general manager Ron Hextall said. "It is a lower body injury and he is out three weeks."

March 29:

Neuvirth update
While talking about Emery on Tuesday, Hextall updated the status of Neuvirth, who hasn't played since March 16's 3-2 win in Chicago.

"He's on schedule and he's doing well," Hextall said. "We're hoping that he skates at some point in the next five or six days and then just progress him from there.

"I think the end of this season is probably a stretch at this point."

So it's the Mason and (maybe) Stolarz show as the games get more and more important down the stretch.
