Good stuff. Should be a good depth defenseman to have going into next season.

They probably want to get him back to the NHL very soon though.

he should be in the 3rd pairing next season, he is playing great on the marlies, let see what Dubus does during the offseason.

We need these cheap contract guys to play good sooo badly.
I would love to see him next year replacing Dermott on the 3rd pair.

Dermott will be replacing Gardiner for sure.

So next year we are looking at something like

Rielly Zaitsev
Dermott Oz
Rosen Liljegren
Xxx

Here is hoping Zaitsev and the 2nd pairing can hold it together. I guess Gardiner is not returning

Dubas is too attached to his Marlies team. He only cares about players that played there.
Seriously though, its a good signing. Rosen has been the best d man on the Marlies, and they see him in the NHL.

Sleeper pick to sneak into the bottom 6 pairing next year when things switch around.

So we have approximatley 30.3M to sign;

- 6 forwards, incl. Matthews, Marner, Johnsson & Kapanen
- 2 defense
- 1 goalie

Our 2 spare defense and Sparks should cost only about 2.5M or so.

So 28M let's say to sign 6 forwards, including the 4 stated above.

Why wouldn't he sign that?

It's a one way contract worth 750K for two years. He's not going to get that money anywhere else. The Leafs are just flexing their financial muscles with this one.
pretty much

and it'similar money to what Dubas gave other Marlie vets
