Don't know if there already is a thread, apologize if there is.

What's the scouting report on him? He's the younger brother of Hawks prospect Marcus Kruger and was passed over in last years draft.

His stat line this year for Djurgarden's J20 team is:

GP 27 G 8 A 22

Does anyone think he'll be drafted this year, and what round would he be drafted in if you think he will be?

His stat line for the DIFJ20 is actually:

GP 40 G 10 A 33 P 43 PIM 46

He's a lot like his brother, good playmaker and decent in his own zone. Makes some great plays, good hands, probably better hands than his brother. He doesn't quite have the same fearlessnes though and he's a slight build for sure, needs time and work in the gym.

Perhaps a late pick, he should be seen as a long term project.

I don´t think he will be picked but he is a interesting player.

One thing to note with forwards from Djurgården, is that they really have a lot of good junior forwards. it´s a really hard competition for a spot in the main team and to get a lot of toi in the junior team.

My theory is that this has lead to that forwards that plays for Djurgården has a harder time putting up loads of points, getting time in SEL and getting noticed enough to be drafted in their draftyear.

Marcus Krüger was drafted as an overager 2009, Cehlin and Brodin as overagers in 2010 and my guess is that John Norman will be drafted as an overager in the 2011-draft. I wouldn´t be surprised if the same thing happens next draft too. Måns Krüger or Fredric Weigel is likely candidates.

Djurgården has been a good source of forwards lately.

2009 Jacob Josefsson (20) Marcus Krüger (149 amazing development)
2010 Patrick Cehlin (126 leading scorer for Sweden in wjc) Daniel Brodin (146 grinder for Tre Kronor)
2011 Mika Zibanejad (?) John Norman (?) (Gabriel Landeskog used to play for DIF)
2012 Pontus Åberg (seriously talented, a topscorer in this years Ivan Hlinka) Kalle Torniainen (one of Finlands topnames for the next draft) Fredric Anderberg and Mattias Kalin (important players for the swedish u-17 team but the fierce competition keeps them in the j18-league) + perhaps some latebloomer like Måns Krüger
