he hasn't been the same player since his eye injury, but he seems to be a great presence in the locker room. my guess is he will get a gig similar to craig conroy in management.

Yes, I was worried that was the case as well, but I believe they mentioned on the Canucks Lunch yesterday that his absence was not family related. Thank God.

Let's stick to hockey speculation. How about he goes onto LTIR, so his salary comes off the cap? Then he formally retires in the summer.

If he retires now, during mid season, does his salary count against the cap?

Really feel sad about this.

Before we signed Malhotra, I was a big advocate of picking him up. Love the way he plays the game, and just seems like a heck of a guy.

It's really a shame that his injury hampered his career. Easily in my top 10 favourite Canucks. Wish him the best if this is true.

That makes sense and would back up what Higgins' brother said about him getting waived. Whatever role he takes up in the organization, he'll be great at it. Plus he's incredible in the community.
