Make fun of our jerseys at your peril!

Sure their jerseys don't scream "tough guy" but it seems that the Sabres have decided to become on of the leagues nastiest teams in addition to being defending cup champs.

Brooks Orpik was the main offender this time, handing out a couple of beatings of his own, while the Sabres were comfortably beating the Dallas Stars on the scoreboard too.

In a game littered with roughing, high sticking and elbowing calls Orpik took the initiative right before the end of the second period while the score was tied at 2-2 and dropped the gloces with Chris Neil. Orpik made light work of the Stars #1 enforcer, and then followed that up right before the end of the game when emotions were getting out of hand by beating Duvie Wescott to a pulp, where he had to be carried off the ice.

This follows Buffalo's game against the Coyote's where Denis Gauthier took two misconduct penalties and was also thrown out of the game.

Offensively the Sabres were smooth, with Daniel Briere and young Nikolai Zherdev leading the charge. A couple of late PP goals polished off a nice night and sent the team on its way with a smile. The team gets a rest day before heading to Boston...looking for win #6. The Bruins have been playing well so far and sit 1 place ahead of the Sabres. It should be a good game to watch.

and remember...GO SLUGS!

That's all for now...
