At home, everything is fine.
The Habs scored with 38 goals in 12 games (3.17 goals per game)

On the road, it's abysmal.
The Habs scored only 20 goals in 12 games (1.67 goals per game)
They are 29th in the league , just ahead of Buffalo

And in the bottom 10 teams in the league, all of them played less games on the road the the Habs

Discuss, who's fault and how to fix this....

Proof that the team is carried by Therrien's coaching.

Habs shots/game: 27.6

Good for 27th in the NHL. Only ahead of Calgary, Buffalo & New Jersey.

The Habs offensive numbers are bound to fall unless they can manage to start generating more shots/more scoring chances.

Start with a powerplay that has sucked for one full calendar season.
What is our PP like on the road in the last full year?
That is an execution issue not a coaching issue correct? LMFAO

I would think that this points to the opposite. If Therrien can't get the team playing on the road then how does that suggest he's carrying them? I'm curious?

Because the team is not great, so we can win if we have last change and use that to the max, but can't win without it. I was just joking though. I don't think coaches are nearly that important. Also, our poor performances on the road are at least partly explainable with these awful schedules where we go 4-5 days without playing then play 3 games in 4 nights & 4 games in 6 nights on the road. This has happened twice now this season. At the end of the day they are excuses but it's still a factor.

Proof that you can't succeed when your top line is sheltered...

Actually proof that the top line IS INFACT sheltered, because some of you still believe they get the toughest matchups.

That's a terrible point. If the DD line is facing tough matchups on the road, that means either Pleks or Eller is getting sheltered minutes but not producing.

DD got the toughest matchup in the Boston series against Chara and Bergeron.

That said, our "top" line is not a top line. We don't have a top line. We might be able to rearrange the lineup to have one, but it wouldn't make us win more. Those are the centers that we have.

If you have a Seguin, Toews, Bergeron, Crosby, Datsyuk, Johansen, Kopitar in your back pocket then by all means.. trade DD for a pick and get your top center to make us an actual contender.
