I really think it's time for NHL-teams to take a look at this 20-year old defenseman. He has been on fire for his Sel-team since he was called up from sel-2. 15 points in 22 sel-games and 6 points so far in 6 playoff-games. He is the biggest reason that Färjestad suddenly have a good pp. He still got a lot to learn defensively but his offensive qualities is undeniable. I don't know if it's still possible to draft this kid, since he is born 1990 though, but a 20-year old d-man that have been almost 1 ppg as of late in a lowscoring league like SEL deserves attention.

Absolutely! Nygren is a very interesting player. The NHL-clubs will probably have an eye on him from now on. I think he will stay in Färjestad for next season too and hopefully he will have a good season just like this one, or maybe even better :) Then he might go over to AHL/NHL.

Good and raw offensive talent but he needs to work on his attitude both towards teammates, coaches and opponents.

He's been great for Färjestad late this season and has been what they've been missing on the PP all year.

Are we talking about the same player?? He's attitude is great. He's very ambitious, very humble and popular by teammates.

A common view on Nygren - powerplay specialist with a very good release. Average defensive game.

Well, is he a good player for Färjestad? Definitely.
Should he be interesting for the NHL clubs? I don't think so. Afterall he has the same strengths and weaknesses as so, so, so many north american D-men. He's very useful, but let's face it, his type is very common in NA. I think he's very likely to become a great SEL player, but never to establish himself in the NHL...

The could have signed him as a UFA tomorrow. There must have been quite a bit of interest for him.

Won't be surprised to see him in Hamilton next season, looks like a solid player playing in Sweden's top league. Most likely AHL ready.
