Like many have expected Magnus Arvedson has decided to retire and is now instead likely to be involved in Färjestad's youth development.

Magnus had this to say about his retirement:

"It is really sad," Arvedson says to newspaper Nya Wermlands-Tidningen and continues:
"Things looked good during the summer training. I was really motivated and in good shape when I injured my back. Now I have not been able to train or play for a month and a half. I was mentally prepared that I had played my last game."

Magnus was a vital piece of the Hawks rebuilding and playoff drive last year. We wish him well in his future endevours.

Actually, I believe the deadline for affecting our rosters is October 1, therefore you should still have Arvedson for this season.

Actually Arvedson signed with Farjestad in Sweden on Aug 6. It's not pending NHL lockout. So I think Arvedsson's career is done in the HFNHL.
