I dunno, maybe it's me, but I'd prefer to see Talbot return to his normal level of play than hope he fails so the Oilers have to spend scarce cap space or assets to get another starter, cap space and assets that could be used to patch other, far more glaring areas of the roster.

Chiarelli made the gamble that Talbot could continue playing at a high level and it didn't work so well for the Oilers this season. If it doesn't happen I'd prefer a little insurance. Montoya ain't that insurance.

What if the Oilers run with Talbot/Montoya and Talbot plays more like this season than like last season?
