Also dude on second line that isn’t even in the nhl anymore.
You mean Kessel, the guy who scored 50 points last season playing with guys like Galchenyuk and Larsson?

Maybe next time I'll just put a guy with zero NHL experience there. It seems to appease the masses here.
top pair would be f*cked into oblivion sadly.
You need to look into Sanheim and Skjei.

Where is Kessel playing next season? Also when was the last time Reinhart played C?

Reinhart played C the season before he joined Florida, i.e. 20-21.

Kessel will get a deal somewhere.

Hartman over Gourde a misstep, and Hagel over someone like Roslovic another misstep.

Belair goofed on defensive pairings, though. Should've gone something like this:
Skjei-Sanheim
Chiarot-Larsson
Hague-Shattenkirk

I thought the team was less than the sum of its parts, but a firmly in the top sixteen.

Reinhart also took nearly 400 draws this season playing with Lundell and Marchment for the most part. Finished at a point a game rate and definitely assisted on the defensive side of the puck.

I liked my deployment because Skjei seemed to thrive with a strong defensive D in Carolina. Larsson isn't quite Brett Pesce, but he's a similarly solid defensive D.

Chiarot has a history of handling the tough matchups and he could do much worse than Sanheim as a partner. Skjei 39 EV points, Sanheim 31, both with heavy defensive workloads. Definitely not something I figured people would overlook.

Kessel is whatever. He's a setup man now. So throwing him with two guys who scored 30 goals last season seemed like a pretty good fit. Honestly all three of those wingers could alternate. Putting Brown on the top line made sense considering he plays all situations.

I liked Gourde and really considered him, but I had a big focus on even strength production. And let's be honest, if you guys are overlooking Skjei and Sanheim, you're overlooking Gourde.

Said it before though, the voting is meaningless. The fun has always been throwing team together. I think this would be a tough team to play IRL.

I wasn't super big on Reinhart as a 1C as a whole or Chiarot on the 1st pair.

Despite this, I voted you brother.

Your team had toughness to shove the other one around, depth was comparable, and Saros is miles miles ahead of Blackwood.

Thought his powerplay was better but, yeah you got smoked when it should have been tighter IMO.

TBH I wasn't either but he was the best option at the time to handle the workload. I viewed the defense more as a unit though. No traditional 'top pair' because the 2nd pair was equally as strong. I also really like Hague on the bottom pair. Somebody needs to offersheet him ASAP.

Reinhart as C didn't really bother me much. Strong F in all aspects of the game and draws mean so little in the grand scheme of things. It's not like the guy doesn't know how to play the position and it's not like he's surrounded by shit linemates.

His top line was miles better offensively. But as a team I think he had like 100 less even strength goal total. Not the be all end all by any means, but a funny stat nonetheless.

I don’t mind Reinhart as a 2C but I’m strongly of the view the guys on your first line should be in their last played positions.
