Lottery Trade Scenario

Mods can move this to draft thread if necessary, but I feel like this is a good stand-alone topic. Say the Oilers finish 30th and the Sabres finish 29th, and a 3rd place or lower team wins the lottery. Edmonton would pick 2nd, Buffalo would pick 3rd. Is it absurd to think Buffalo and Edmonton could swap picks so Edmonton could draft Hanifin and Buffalo could draft Eichel? The Oilers desperately need a franchise defenseman. What would Buffalo have to add to trade up one spot in the draft to get Eichel?

edit: Should be Draft Trade Scenario, not Lottery Trade Scenario

Think the Oil would ask for a bit much.

Yeah, but hopefully nothing too unreasonable. Eichel's value > Hanifin's value. But like I said, the Oilers need a defenseman like Hanifin. So maybe they would be willing to negotiate a bit more...friendly.

They could keep Eichel and trade Eberle, Nugent-Hopkins and Hall to Buffalo for Hanifin and still win the trade.
