I dont see him signing for less money than Evander Kane. 7,5 million for 7 years is my guess....

I’d be surprised if he got less than 7. I think he will get 7.5.

One of the best goal scorers 3-5ft from the net in the league. Unfortunately he doesn’t offer too much else and isn’t as committed defensively as he should be, but he’s still a good player with at least several more years of production left.

So that means there's will be 11 teams looking for a scoring winger after JVR is signed. Skinner and Pacioretty should be in demand.

Well ,you know what you get with him.....goals

He will score, no matter where he goes. So there will be no regret in that area..... (broken record part of my post) he just isn't a complete (compete) player....... that's it.

Prepare for alot of :

-Come on JvR!
-Move your feet!
- Get it, JvR!
- Get back!
- Skate!

Goal scorer getting a lot of interest? You don't say. Honestly if the Blues can't land anything better at Center than Brozak, they really should bring him on because LW is Schwartz, than it goes to Steen and Sobotka at the moment. Fabbri a question mark as a penciled in top 6. It could work out because Thomas and Kryou are listed at Centers. I can see Steen with his aging dropping down on third line mentoring in away a couple younger guys. Sobotka could be traded, even if Center is not a big goal scorer having someone else in that line to cover it. So having him and Tarasenko on that line. Can be do able I think for the price of Tavares alone you can build something else.

Whoever signs him will be very excited looking at his goal totals, and then very frustrated when they see a lackadaisical turd who refuses to put any effort into the defensive end of the ice.

I guess playing on the leafs really leaves a stink on players. This guy basically produces better than Simmonds and isn't going to have the wear and tear as Simmonds.

Wouldn't be surprised if had a Marleau type of longevity. Whoever signs him won't regret it as long as they use him properly.

The problem with JVR is that he does nothing other than scoring goals

Yep. He was something like 10th in even-strength ice-time per game among forwards on the Leafs last season. Pretty much a PP specialist that needs protected and limited ES minutes. You shouldn't pay that type of player at around 7M.

You could tell he was playing for a contract this year because he made a defensive play that one game.
