When the flames lost in 04 they released a lot of "Western Conference Champions" gear, still have the flag somewhere in the house

I think they're usually donated to charity, on the condition that those charities ship them as far from North America as possible. I saw a Chicago Bears Superbowl shirt (2006 was it?) when I was in Zambia a couple years back.

Good thread by the way. The stuff is obviously pre-made so it has to go somewhere. I always wondered myself.

never thought to look on eBay for a "Calgary Flames 2004 Stanley Cup Champions" hat. But I should!

Yes, I believe you are right.

I know the Lakers (NBA) faced the Celtics in game 7 of the 1969 NBA finals. They put all the balloons in the rafters to come down the second the Lakers won.

Alas, the Celtics won, and the balloons were later donated to a children's hospital!
