Well the points to consider were that : in AD they were getting one of the top 5 players in the league and AD only wanted to play with the Lakers.

Maybe ... but we've seen "so and so wants to play with team X" before and it ended up different. A lot can change in a year, and out on the open market there's no guarantees that a guy won't end up somewhere else and be perfectly happy.

Used to hear about 'Melo wanting to play in LA. And we heard "Kawhi wants to come to the Lakers" for like 2- 3 years. And there have been many others. Yet when they had the chance to actually do it, most went elsewhere.

It's all just talk until the ink is on the contract.
