Only players who are eligible for the 2020 Calder trophy (so no Wagner, Amadio, etc). Calder eligibility is defined as:
- No older than 26 years old as of September 15th, 2019 (so Prokhorkin just makes the cut, if you wish to vote him in)

List of players eligible to be nominated:
Aidan Dudas, F
Alexander Dergachyov, F
Andre Lee, F
Blake Lizotte, F
Bokondji Imama, F
Brad Morrison, F

Grundstrom! Prokhorkin may be the best player here at this point, but he turns 26 in Sept. So nice to have a 19 year old, 100 point OHL scorer, (Akil Thomas) that won;t crack the top 10 on this poll.
That's good depth!

Fun comparison between Clague and Durzi - Clague scored 167 points in 195 games in the WHL, Durzi scored 140 points in 180 games in the OHL.

Between the two of them, and with only a one year age difference, Clague is the better, more developed prospect.

Is this the best prospect pool we've ever had?

As an aside, for a trip down memory lane...

Fagemo for me. High Ceiling. But could be convinced of Grundstrom. I think he's got some major upside too.

Clague has really left a sour taste in my mouth since turning pro though he probably needs a non-terrible Kings org year to set the record straight. But right now he's the offensive d-man whose offense isn't good enough to offset his Erik-Karlsson-esque issues on defense (looking around, not taking sticks, getting worked/muscled in corners, etc.)

I don’t disagree, but I think he can be a lot better than he showed last season. Ontario was literally the worst team in the AHL last season and the roster left a lot to be desired. The defense will now be pretty promising - Anderson, Clage, Phillips, Durzi, Brickley, Strand. If nothing else, there are some talented guys on the team. The offense should be marginally better too - Anderson-Dolan, Kupari, Lizotte, maybe a few others.

What I’m really excited about is how many players in our system wore letters for their teams in recent years at the WJC. In 2017, Grundstrom wore an A for Sweden. In 2018, Clague wore an A for Canada and Moverare wore an A for Sweden. In 2019, JAD wore an A for Canada and Anderson wore the C for USA.

I dunno, man. Aside from Anderson and Björnfot, were any defensemen in the Kings org, from Doughty on down, praised for good defense last year?

Nope, and I've said here and elsewhere I give nearly everyone a pass for last year in that context. But these are the same issues Clague has shown consistently against better competition--like WJC and camps--not just last year.

For all we know this could be his breakout year and I'd love to be wrong, but to me, other prospects have more upside now.

And I look at that defensive lineup and I take Anderson over Clague immediately. He won't be nearly as good defensively as Phillips, Strand, nor as good offensively as Durzi. It's the Roland McKeown problem, what's his ID? 2nd/3rd pairing PP specialist? I'd love a Torey Krug out of him. But I don't see it, not enough piss and vinegar, not enough attention to his own zone, not enough offense.

I know it's a minority opinion and I'm probably being harder on him than anyone here will be. But Clague and Akil Thomas, man, both of them have done a lot to sour me in my viewings vs. their body of work in junior, they have a lot of growing to do, they're years and years off.

Thanks for your opinion on it. Hopefully some of our organization changes trickle all the way down. Maybe I’ve still got rose-tinted glasses on for some of our guys.

And respectfully right back. I'm not trying to be combative about it, I'd love to have my mind changed, especially on Clague.
