Where would this team be if all the crazy shit didn't happened earlier in the season with ADA, No Panarin, Zibs Covid start, Covid protocols, losing Chytil , Igor & Trouba, etc. ?

Every team has to deal with adversity and injuries, etc, but that was unprecedented and extreme. Having Panarin and a regular Zib for another 10 games would have them currently above Boston imho.

Its crazy that they are currently 15th in the standings league wide with a top 10 differential but out of the playoffs. They would currently be in a playoff spot in two other divisions

I mean the Bruins had to play 7 games without Pastrnak and their last 2 weeks with their 3rd/4th string goalies so it likely evens out.

next 4 games are against the Devils, need 4 straight wins no excuses whatsoever

then play the islanders 1 game, not impressed with the Islanders after this weekend's showing, we should win that one

then 2 straight against the flyers, a split would be acceptable

then 2 straight against the sabres, no excuses need both wins no matter what

then another 2 with the islanders, a split would be acceptable

then 2 against washington, getting 1 point out of both games would be ok

and then the final 2 games are against boston, and if boston is still holding on to the final spot with only a few
points of separation you have your destiny in your own hands, or by then we could of surpassed boston if we do
well with our games.

We'll see what happens but it looks pretty good.

check how many games Boston plays against Buffalo

We can be in the playoffs by Sunday night it all goes well.

A weakened BOS against the Islanders for a b2b and against Washington Noon Sunday.

We play the depleted Ruff devils.

Even if those 6 games happen that way, Bruins will still have those 2 games-in-hand.
It will a long hard slog for NYR to stay close, and to earn a berth.
But NYR are playing better, throughout the lineup, and in net. LGR

If we're tied going into our final series, we control our own destiny.

We beat them twice in regulation, we're in. If we split, we're at the mercy of NYI and WAS.

its a longshot only gonna happen if if NYR reach/pass them quickly

if close, re head-to-head:
to date head-to-head
BB 8 pts in 6 games
NYR 5 pts in 6 games
so NYR would need to be close by May 6th,,
then sweep those 2 games(NYR final reg season games),
then root against Bruins in Boston's final 2 games
(vs NYI and Caps, who may be jockeying for seeding)
And if we do, they are gonna fold like a cheap (or, is it old?) sweater.
They'll feel the heat of "blowing a very sizeable" PO position lead, and we will pick up steam. These kids will only get better and when they fully realize what is at stake and the possibility of PO's, well then, now we're cooking. As if they dont know it already. Haha.

the playoff dream has collapsed almost entirely,
as the top 4 teams keep winning
ignoring ties and tiebreakers, see that
those teams can clinch post season, just by playing a hair above .500
even if NYR win out

Here
after last nights debacle it's over and thankfully so
this team is not ready for Prime Time at all

I agree it's over, but I don't agree that we should be thankful it's over.

Any playoff experience is good playoff experience, and honestly, is a team like is a team like Arizona or even Montreal "ready for the prime time" either? This has been a whacky year.

I understand what you are saying but while this team may not be mentally strong and built for a run like the Isles, there is a ton of skill and good metrics on this team to possibly make some noise. I'll never turn down a chance at that.

6th in GFGP
11th in GAGP
4th in PK%
Top 15 in PP% & ROWs

Usually that translates to a playoff team.

However, no one should be disappointed. From a building standpoint being out of it should provide more ice time to the youngens including Jones and Barron hopefully. From that perspective, I agree.

this whole season was a disaster, from TDA to Panarin's ridiculous LOA to an incompetent coach

JD really needs to get the right coach next season, we are going nowhere with Quinn
