There is an indepth thread on this in the COVID forum. It's pretty bad how it can affect some people for months or a year or more after they got it. From issues with their lungs and what not to the brain and in some cases causing what they equate to a 10 point drop in IQ.

People who are anti-vax can't afford to have their IQ drop by 10 points...

Vaccination doesn't offer much protection from long covid
Directly, no, but the key words in that headline are "if you get a breakthrough infection." I don't foresee any advancements that'll help prevent even asymptomatic cases of Covid potentially leaving you with a year plus of neurological or respiratory issues so vaccines and standard masking/distancing are still going to be beneficial to limit infections to begin with. Though if it continues to mutate into more and more contagious variants then it'll just become a countdown to everybody ending up with long term symptoms, unfortunately. If people start catching it once or twice a year the odds will catch up to us eventually.
