Watson of Predators suspended 27 games by NHL

Forward disciplined for unacceptable off-ice conduct

by NHL Public Relations @PR_NHL / NHL.com
September 12th, 2018

NEW YORK -- Nashville Predators' forward Austin Watson has been suspended for all preseason and the first 27 games of the 2018-19 regular season, without pay, for unacceptable off-ice conduct, the National Hockey League announced today.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman levied the suspension under Rule 18-A of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Commissioner's ruling came following an investigation by the League and an in-person hearing in New York on Friday, Sept. 7. The investigation and hearing were conducted, pursuant to the CBA, to determine the relevant facts and circumstances relating to a June 16, 2018, incident involving Austin Watson and his domestic partner. The incident ultimately resulted in Watson pleading no contest to a charge of domestic assault on July 24, 2018.
"I have determined that Nashville Player Austin Watson engaged in a physical confrontation with his domestic partner," NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said. "Today's ruling, while tailored to the specific facts of this case and the individuals involved, is necessary and consistent with the NHL's strongly held view that it cannot and will not tolerate this and similar types of conduct."

His brother is the coach of an Atom team in London.
This is what they did to honour
@HumboldtBroncos today in practice.

London
Erik Karlsson traded to San Jose....why is this important??

Sources say the #Sens have dealt Erik Karlsson to the Sharks in exchange for Chris Tierney, Dylan DeMelo, Josh Norris, Rudolfs Balcers, 2020 1st, 2019 2nd and two conditional picks.

The Senators are becoming the home for Knights prospects. Not only that but Chris Tierney takes up a roster spot for the Sens and Josh Norris will fight against Formenton for a roster spot. I think Tkachuk stays up in the NHL though....

I really like Austin Watson but I dislike domestic violence. In my view the suspension is justified

Senators are especially excited about prospects Josh Norris and Rudolfs Balcers.
Norris just happens to be Brady Tkachuck's best friend

Anyone wanna trade for the rights to Josh Norris from Niagara?? Lol! We would be so spoiled and we could definitely use more hate in this thread..
Only if he brings his buddy BT with him so we can sweep the Ice Dogs AGAIN in the Championships.

That hate is only one way, we have no reason to hate the Ice Dogs.

In non-Karlsson related news, Knights goaltender Jordan Kooy
won't play for London this weekend against Erie.
The Vegas pick is nursing a minor injury.

FRISCO, Texas -- Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has signed defenseman Ben Gleason to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Gleason, 20, finished ninth among all OHL defensemen with 48 points (9-39=48) in 63 regular-season games with Hamilton in 2017-18. He also ranked eighth among League blueliners with 39 assists in 2017-18, while his six power play goals were good for sixth among OHL defensemen. The defenseman registered 18 points (3-15=18) in 21 postseason contests, helping Hamilton win the OHL championship. Gleason's 18 points in the postseason shared first among OHL defensemen and were tied for fifth among all team skaters.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound native of Ortonville, Mich. has recorded 125 points (22-103=125) in 236 career regular-season contests over four OHL seasons with Hamilton and London. Gleason has also appeared in 32 games in the OHL Playoffs, recording 20 points (3-17=20).

Anyone have any news report on how Adam Boqvist is doing at the Chicago Black Hawks camp ?

Good question Fastpace.
From what the Blackhawks' Fans are saying on their site, Boqvist will indeed be sent back to the London Knights. LDN asked that question on their site:

LDN said:
Will Boqvist be sent to London?

BK answered last night:
Yes. He has to adjust to the NA game/rink size.
The AHL wouldn’t be good for him (not this early at least).
London knows how to develop players.

Also:
On NHL SportsForecaster, Boqvist is rated further down the line.
NHL Depth Chart | The Sports Forecaster
Many rate him as the Blackhawk's #1 Prospect.
He'll get quality ice time as a London Knight.
Chicago Blackhawks have a deep system.

Does anyone think Raaymakers has a shot of landing a contract with Columbus?

He’s played well enough to get the invite to main camp, and his numbers continue to trend upward.

I wouldn’t be shocked to see them sign him. Thankfully I don’t think the Jackets have an ECHL affiliate, so he should be back in London either way.

If something crazy happens the Knights can trade for a back up for Kooy goalies are cheap
