@davest4yotes #Coyotes GM Don Maloney says Smith remains day-to-day and Lombardi "may be out for a significant amount of time."
GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled forward Nick Johnson from the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes’ American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).
I didn't see what happened, what's the scoop on his injury?
He got slew-footed by Desjardins. Looked like it was a knee issue of some sort.
TorontoSun said:A rut in the ice at the Saddledome ended his 2010-11 campaign just as he’d taken the role of a lifetime as the team’s top centre between Alex Tanguay and Jarome Iginla.
Didn't we just send Brown to the Sundogs in case we needed to get somebody up here quick?
LaBarbera will start tomorrow for #Coyotes with Smith still day-to-day with lower-body issue. Again, Smith not pegged to be out long-term.
Hanzal and Klesla (both lower-bodies injuries) skated today, Tippett said. Hanzal is questionable for tomorrow. Klesla still on IR.
Tippett on Lombardi: "I haven’t heard anything from the doctor this afternoon, but we’re certainly not expecting him any time soon."
On Lombardi's upper-body injury, Tippett said it's not something he's had a history with.
So to recap through 4 games:
Mike Smith-Lower-body injury-Day to day.
Martin Hanzal-Lower-body injury-Day to day.
Rostislav Klesla-Lower-body injury-Injured Reserve
Matthew Lombardi-Upper body injury-Injured Reserve?
Guess we are running three lines for the majority of games for a while.
K, so what other crap centers are out there?
We can't afford to not have 2 of our top 4 centers for any amount of time.
