All this time we thought we had a finite amount of both groups and it turns out all we needed to do was open the possibility for people to pretend their opinion f***ing mattered and voila, experts on demand.

I'd laugh if this shit wasn't so goddamn serious. To the people in this thread pretending they have the faintest clue what they're talking about, leave the expertise to the people who get paid to be experts. You can rest on your laurels knowing the situation is in capable hands and your thoughts on the subject are not really required.

The advice of the medical community, the leaders in infectious disease and epidemiology, the science behind mRNA vaccines and the lightning speed with which they went from theoretical Covid-19 vaccine to mass production has been in capable hands the entire time. Almost very estimate, guideline and procedure they have provided has been exactly right.

You can separate politics, ie. people who are NOT experts in any of these areas, from the actual brilliant minds who are leading the fight against Covid and yes, you can confidently say that things have been handled capably.

If we had formed a commission that could instruct the public on how to deal with the pandemic and could overrule provincial governments, then we wouldn't be in the hole we're in today. The direction politicians provide will always be compromised because they respond to something that rarely affects science - influence.

Like I said in the post before, there's a lot of people in here pretending to be experts all of a sudden. Being a part of something doesn't make you an expert in that thing. Being on a sinking boat doesn't make you a sailor or an engineer or an expert in search and rescue. Why is this any different?

This is not about the "noble" trucker. Never was. There are some very bad people behind this that have tapped into some anger in the more moderate general population.

To the good people involved in or supporting this protest:
