Maybe this thread can be updated

Looks up to date to me:

The top 10 oldest living players now are:

Elmer Lach (96)
Milt Schmidt (96)
John Mahaffy (96)
Wally Stanowski (95)
Ed Barry (95)
Bob Fillion (94)
Chick Webster (94)
Jim Conacher (93)
Paul Gladu (93)
Leo Reise, Jr. (92)

As for your second request: Nunymare intentionally started a specific thread of its own to list deaths of former NHLers, so why merge them?

Jeez. Milt Schmidt. Couldn't help like the guy if you ever saw five seconds of an interview with him. Loved him on Legends of Hockey: I'd do it all again! Let's go!

So now who would be the oldest living NHLer?

It's very sad to hear of Milt Schmidt's passing. He was a link to another era. To my count, there only remain 3 living hall of famers born in the 1920's or earlier:

Johnny Bower (1924)
Ted Lindsay (1925)
Red Kelly (1927)

Ted Lindsay (1944-) and Red Kelly (1947-) are the only hall of famers to have played regularly in the 1940's.

two questions:

Shouldn't this thread be "Oldest living former NHL players"? A list of oldest NHL players would be Jagr, Luongo, etc.

Does anybody have a list of the 20 oldest living former players? I know there was one mentioned earlier in the thread, but since a group of editors at Wikipedia seem to be more content tagging articles for deletion than adding information (one of the main reasons I stopped creating pages several years ago), it might be easier to keep a list in house vs on Wikipedia.

Figured a bump was necessary here, with the passing of Mr. Bower.

Was trying to look up the oldest living ex-NHLer and this thread came up.

Seals/Leafs goalie Marv Edwards still going strong at 85. Saw him at a gathering of former Seals for the release of the documentary a few years ago and he looked GREAT! He looked ancient in his late 30's on the Seals but he's aged well. Good going, Mr Edwards!
