Montreal
Tries that cheeky move again against Minsk

Anyone have a video of that shootout attempt where he slides on his belly and shoves the puck to his stick with his glove?

Omark could have had an NHL career but pissed it away.

After the 10-11 season, it was clear that he needed to work on two things: 1) his skating (specifically his first step and straight line speed); and 2) his shot. Instead he just scrimmaged all summer with Lulea players.

Making matters worse, he was arrogant, lazy on the back check, and didn't buy into systems. I still faintly remember a goal against in 11-12 where he got a chance on the top line, put absolutely no effort in when the puck was turned over, and allowed an odd man rush to happen.

If he had a good attitude, he'd be a top six powerplay specialist somewhere in the NHL today. Zuccarello is a good example of what he could have achieved.

This is my conclusion w/ Puljujarvi and his summers in Finland w/ his old team. . I highly doubt he works on boardplay and heavy forechecks

I doubt the hip issues helped with board play, but yeah, he needs to get better. I think a lot of it has to do with not enough "man strength" in his legs and core yet, which is especially bad for tall players because their centres of gravity are so high.

Besides, I would argue that Pulju's biggest issues are confidence-related. If you hesitate, you're late to pucks or fail to get open. If you're not feeling good about your game, you play inside yourself and don't take the risks you need for being successful like driving to the net with the puck or hanging onto it for that extra second to slow down and make plays.

If possible, he needs to work on his mentality and build resiliency--possibly with the help of some sports psychology and a more stable home routine (e.g. family coming to live with him). A Taylor Hall wouldn't have buckled like he did.

Kid's a natural 8/10 for generating chances, but he's been playing like he's a 4/10. The difference is stark between his good and bad games.

For what it's worth, I think it's unlikely that Puljujarvi will get close to his potential here.

Without thinking too hard, I'd try to swing a deal with a Carolina, Columbus, Florida or Ottawa.
