Punt Hemsky and Morrow, call up Carr and Lernout.. stop playing guys like Mitchell/Benn over younger guys like Davidson and DLR who are actually playing decent.

Lehkonen - Drouin - Galchenyuk
Pacioretty - Plekanec - Hudon
Byron - Danault - Shaw
Carr - DLR - Gallagher
Mitchell

Mete - Weber
Alzner - Petry
Davidson - Lernout
Benn

Patches Chucky Gally - proven chemistry
Lehkonen Drouin Scherbak - Lehk and Jo have shown chemistry and Scherbak can add O
Byron Danault Shaw - proven chemistry and buzz line
DLR Plex Hudon - Solid line with some chemistry and depth against any 4th line in hockey

Mete Weber
Alzner Petry
Davidson Lernout - Benn et al not working out. Try Lernout as stay at home with Davidson the PMD

I know it will NEVER happen but that's what I'd go with if I were making the decisions.

with the current roster.

Pacioretty - Drouin - Byron
Hudon - Galchenyuk - Lehkonen
Byron - Plekanec - Gallagher
DLR - Danault - Shaw

What we might have had

Pacioretty - Backlund - Drouin
Hudon - Galchenyuk - Radulov
Byron - Danault - Lehkonen
DLR - Mitchell - Shaw

Gallagher for Backlund minor plus to equalize either way

Pleks to Vegas for D retain $1M

Threw the top-9 forwards into a hat and started picking names. A couple of the lines have some merit:

Pacioretty - Plekanec - Gallagher. Probably a good idea to separate 67 and 92.
Hudon - Drouin - Danault.
Byron - Galchenyuk - Lehkonen. I’m sure Galchenyuk can handle 3rd line C duties; Lehkonen and Byron can cover his defensive lapses.
Shaw + company on line 4.

Just imagine for a second that this could be possible with a couple different moves(including trading Sergachev for Duchene) :

Lekhonen - Galchenyuk - Radulov
Pacioretty - Duchene - Gallagher
Byron - Danault - Hudon
DLR - McCarron - Shaw

Mete - Subban
Alzner - Petry
Jerabek - Lernout/Davidson

Price
Lindgren/Montoya

Looks much better to me, a solid top 9 and mobile top 4 D (except maybe Alzner).

The lineup decisions that Julien makes continues to boggle my mind. Galchenyuk has proven he can't produce by himself, Pacioretty has proven he can (even if he isn't right now). Split them up so teams have to make some kind of sacrifice when trying to shut us down. Especially on the road. Quit making it so easy on opposing coaches. I still don't think this lineup is as bad as the record or the current line combo's are making it look. If we continue to operate as a one line team than we will have a long season.

I would try this lineup

Lehkonen - Drouin - Galchenyuk
Pacioretty - Danault - Scherbak
Hudon - Plekanec - Byron
Shaw - McCarron - Gallagher

I think it is time MB swallowed his ego and CJ to get off his only 2 way players can play centre and slot Chucky at top 6C.

Scherbak better not be on the 4th line.

If this team has any chance of coming back this small minded thinking on the part of the brain trust needs to expand right now. If we aren't done yet if we take a few more losses in the next 5 games then it's pretty much over.

This combination of ego and stupidity is beyond comprehension.

The only reason why Danault worked with Pacioretty was because they had a dynamo on RW that did everything. Radulov was a tough SOB to play against. There's not many skilled grinders in the league like Radulov. He was the one that fed Pacioretty the puck, not Danault.

This team will have a lot of trouble as long as Danault or Plekanec is anywhere near the 2nd C... Having Drouin as a 1st C is also a problem. As much as a appreciate Byron, he's not a 1st liner.. I can live with him in the top 6 from time to time but best place for him is on the third line.. same for Gallagher, and Shaw... and Danault and Hudon yeah.. that's our problem.

I didn't want them to call up Scherbak and McCarron but they're here and they played well so... I'd like to see tried next game:

Pacioretty - Danault - Shaw
Byron - Galchenyuk - Gallagher
Lehkonen - Drouin - Scherbak
Hudon - Plekanec - McCarron

Same D lines.

Pacioretty line our best defensive line to match up against other team's top line. Byron & Gallagher seem to have great chemistry going back to late last year; would be nice to give Galchenyuk a chance at C between these two. Drouin leading two other young talented players to exploit other teams' middle 6. Young Hudon & McCarron bring energy with responsible veteran Plekanec to mentor them.

I want to see Chucky/Scherby move up and play with Drouin. Highly skilled line.

Galchenyuk-Drouin-Scherbak (offensive exploitation line)
Pacioretty-Danault-Lehkonen (All situations line)
Hudon-Plekanec-Gallagher
Byron-McCarron-Shaw

With Scherbak out we're shuffling the deck chairs, still expecting to end up at the bottom of the Atlantic.

Byron - Drouin - Gallagher
Pacioretty - Danault - Shaw
Hudon - Galchenyuk - Lehkonen
De La Rose - Plekanec - McCarron

Same D lines.
