No matter how I juggle the line combos, they always end up looking very weak down the middle.

No matter how I juggle the line combos, they always end up looking very weak down the middle.

We can look weak but rock a Norris and stutzle 1-2 punch with a Stepan-tierney 3-4 punch and yeah it looks weak up top for now, but will keep improving, and also looks deep.

As stutzle gets stronger he becomes the #1 with Norris as #2 and then tienery/Stepan can probably run 3a/3b lines.

Might be a struggle this year as Norris and stutzle are young and will make mistakes, however might start to turn a lot of heads next year.

I am actually down to try that, although, I feel like White with Tkachuk is bound to work again. Tierney is just so...boring.

Yeah, this is a perfect opportunity to try Logan Brown in between Tkachuk and Batherson or even Stützle and Dadanov. No reason he shouldn’t be playing in between one of those combos.

There is a reason , they decided not to put him on the roster. Now to demote someone to the taxi squad or the AHL takes waivers.
If they kept a roster spot for a player like L Brown or Brannstrom that does not take waivers to go up and down they would have a lot more freedom of moving players in and out.

While it's easy and tempting to look at the team and see how we should be placing more long-term valuable assets in key positions as a matter of their perceived value (L Brown, White etc.), the bottom line is the coach is creating a culture where the best players play. It really does do long-term damage to let the players get ice time because of their contract (White) or draft position (L Brown). The rest of the team is watching, and it allows players to sit on their laurels.

That said, it doesn't mean these players won't come around, and this is especially true of the short-training camp and lack of exhibition games. It's also reasonable not to over-react to these guys not performing at their best during a key scrimmage or two. Some times the puck bounces funny for guys in a short window and a bad game or two has less to do with overall potential of the player, as just the ebb and flow of how guys play over time. If L Brown and Colin White are two of our best centers long-term, their play will inevitably demonstrate that. In the mean time, the culture of a winner is being reinforced.

But the best players Are NOT playing. Watson is nothing. Anisimov is trash. L Brown and White are better than Connor Brown.

Tierney, and that's not much better. Which is a misstep by Dorion. I thought Stepan was such a great PK'er, but if he can't win a FO that is moot.

Also, don't want to see Tkachuk taking faceoffs either.

People in here bashing the vets is actually exactly why the Sens went and got the vets . So they take away the pressure of losses away from the young guys.

You can see it first hand in here. Imagine we didn’t have stepan... people would be full out talking about his trash Norris and white are at the dot
