Sergy is back!!!!!
Lightning re-sign Mikhail Sergachev to three-year contract
If its truly for $4.8 Mil AAV as reported, where is the Cap space for this? Or does this mean that an accompanying move is forthcoming?
You can go over the cap by 10% in the off-season. There will definitely be a cap-clearing move at some point.
That's a great news
Just like Pointer, before the long and important contract, there's a bridge deal to sign.
He always said he wanted to stay with us for his entire career and that contract shows it.
So a minimum of 7.2 for his next deal?
Assuming he’s an RFA when this deal ends, does that mean his QO guarantees him a min. 7.92 AAV on his next deal? Or am I misremembering how that works?
It's based on the base salary.
So money minus signing bonuses.
What exactly is a restricted free agent?
I don't know if that's AAV for salary or the last year of the contract.
SO glad to hear this! Other teams were chomping at the bit for him.
Well this is a good news. Lets see our next moves. Im no excited, cuz I knew it will happen, but glad that Sergy stays with us)
Happy that we were able to get him signed. Was getting though and nervewreaking to wait but feels like it was worth it.
Great news before the bad
What bad are you expecting?
Only for qualifying offer.
Hoping this doesn't mean we lose one of the other 2 RFA's, cause idk where this money is coming from . The other contracts are going to have to be structured similar to this in order to squeeze everyone in.
Either way, glad to have Sergy, the top priority locked up for 3 years. Killorn comes off the books then to put towards Sergy's big deal.
Super excited we got Sergey done first... now on to Cirelli and Cernak...
Hey I'm glad we are keeping Serg. Someone is gonna be odd man out. I like the team as is...obvi that is not possible going forward.
Solid deal. Quality player.
Is stamkos going on LTIR for the whole season? How are we getting under the salary cap ?
