Problem with Sulak is that he's already 24. At his age there is only so much that is going to change about his game. Considering how XO was used this year, the Wings probably should have looked at just keeping Sulak with them this past season.

Sulak will be in the Griffins lineup tonight in San Antonio playing in his first NA pro game. Saarijarvi will also play tonight as well as Nastasiuk as Nelson decided to rest Tangradi, Lashoff, and Renouf.

He is bigger and taller than Hronek as they both entered the dining area together.

Like he should be.

Sulak is listed 189cm (6'2 + something) at Eliteprospects and Hronek is listed 183cm (6'0).

Could you inform the defensive pairs which was used after the game...?

If the Griffins go with 7 d-man tonight, I'm sure the d-man pairing will be rotating around. Will see. He will be wearing #4.

Updated:

Griffins only dressing 6 d-men instead of 7.

Started the game with the d-man pairing:

Sulak - McIlrath
Hicketts - Hronek
Russo- Saarijarvi

Sulak got his first pro point (assist) and a +3 in his NA pro debut for the Griffins in a 6-2 win in San Antonio. He was paired up with Dylan McIlrath, who got 2 goals and an assist and +3 and he was #1 star of the game tonight.

He led all d-men in the Finnish league in points per game, he scored a goal with the Wings in the preseason and looks like a very dynamic puck moving d-man in the Finnish league from the highlights posted here. He is a mobile d-man with size and a great shot. A regular Finnish poster here says he isn't good defensively and he wasn't on the Czech Olympic team (although that may have been due to injury).

Sulak played OK last night. Played great at times and other times he was not. Got an assist when 2 Monsters defenders collided in center ice and he picked up the puck and shot at the goalie and the rebound went to Campbell for an easy goal. Flattened a Monsters forward early in the game, but he also made 2 bad cross ice passes from behind his net that the Monsters picked off inside the Griffins blue line and he was fortunate that it did not go in the back of our net. He was on the ice on the 4 on 4 goal that the Monsters scored as he took his man out, but he moved over to the other d-man side, which left his side wide open and Ben Street's man saw it and skated in and got a free shot that Coreau could not stop. Then on the 2 on 1 Monsters goal, he stopped the 2 Monsters forwards when the pass came to them, but he did not eliminate them, and McIlrath was late getting over there, and Sulak took himself out of the play and McIlrath could not get back into position as the 2 forwards broke in from center ice.

Coach Nelson was pleased with Sulak play after the game, but he also said that he made a few rookie mistakes which is part of the learning process here.
