I am still upset we never signed Paul Ranger
If they get a second for him I'll be thrilled.
Unless some team is really in love with him, no way they get a second
I was trying to channel my inner RB. Words. Sentences. Periods. Names. Google.
Same. He was a good player too. I remember TSN had a documentary about him a few years ago but I never watched it. Wonder why he just, left the NHL....
Value. According to math guru WNGAGC, only 11% of 2nd rounders become good NHL players, and it could be years down the road until that pick plays in this league. Lias can potentially be ready in a year if he gets his shit together. He’s still very young. And despite the ‘17 draft being pretty crappy, Lias was a solid prospect and still has the potential to be an effective NHL player (imo).
The answer was in the documentary. He had crippling anxiety.
Could it be that Quinn preferred Howden over Lias for last 2 seasons because he detected some issues in Lias's character/attitude while Howden is very coachable?
Never figured out how the rangers missed this about him ...
The post you're quoting isn't about Andersson
That was about Paul Ranger, not Lias Andersson
Guess that explains why nothing came up when I Googled “tsn the lias andersson story”.
LOL, i use that move all the time in beer league. Have about a 90% success rate.
Yea I’m in the just get a 2nd and move on ....if he’s looks good overseas they could get it But a 3rd May be the cost
That's how you create a losing organization. Give up on a kid who is 21 and you took 7th overall and be happy to get a second round pick for him.
Yeah, but a trade like that won't happen before the expansion draft
He's never going to play here, may as well get something
Also why are you commenting on something I posted a month ago....
Andersson will be one of the few gripes I have with DQ
He sucked in the ahl too...is that Quinn's fault?
Chytil and Lindgren didn't make the team...they both busted their asses and became integral parts of the team.
Lias' issues aren't Quinn....his issues are his brains and feet. He's such a lazy player whenever I've seen him.
I am afraid that Lias is a big fish in a small pond and he likes it that way..... I hope I'm wrong.......
Possible. It's also entirely possible that he will develop and come over later, start his successful NHL career at age 22/23 like many others
Don't be reasonable AK - we are on HF
Can’t skate. That’s really all there is to it. Certainly not at an nhl or even an AHL level. I remember seeing 4th line ahlers catch him from behind.
and we all saw it clear as day in Traverse City. That’s how unbelievably noticeable it was compared to his peers at that level.
Why? Guy didn’t perform like an NHL player and was demoted - rightfully so. Maybe the problem is that DQ didn’t tell him to skate faster.
Maybe question the scouting staff...
His feet aren’t the problem. They aren’t even that bad and there are plenty of worse skaters in the league who are useful players.
I think his problems were similar to Chytil's early on where neither of them were processing things as fast as they need to
And then Hartford happened and what ever went down there nuked the situation.
